My brother Henry is a designer. Our family has been culturing pearls since the 1960s and I personally own a small pearl farm.
In 2016, I lived in New Zealand for 8 years, it's a beautiful country and everything feels natural. I spent most of my time in Auckland and Canterbury. I appreciated the lifestyle of the locals - they focus on nature and the ocean. For example, they carefully segregate their garbage for recycling and use public transportation and bicycles rather than cars whenever possible.
When I returned home, I realized the negative impact of pearl farming on natural bodies of water, causing pollution and nutrient enrichment in local waters, which often turn yellow and black. We worked with local environmental organizations to assess the over-cultivation of pearl mussels and have been working to change the situation. We have installed purification systems at our farms to reduce the number of oysters per unit area. Although costly, the improved water quality has resulted in higher quality pearls, which is a win-win situation for both man and nature.
In addition to our commitment to environmental protection, we are proud to help local people by providing more than 200 jobs and assisting those affected by pollution. Our brands believe that corporate social responsibility is an important part of our business and we are committed to supporting local communities. We hire and train local people to be skilled workers on our farms and provide them with a safe and healthy work environment.
Our commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility has helped us not only to produce high quality pearls, but also to create a sustainable and ethical business model that benefits everyone. We believe that it is possible to run a successful business while protecting the environment and supporting the local community.
In addition, I have learned a lot from my brother, and I draw inspiration from traveling and learning about the diverse cultures of the Asia-Pacific region. I visited antique stores in every town, met local artists and incorporated what I learned from nature into my pearl designs.
Finally, may our commitment to protect the environment and support society inspire others to create a sustainable future. Let our lives be as vibrant as Aria's, and may we all live in harmony with nature to create a world full of life and beauty.
